Artists and thinkers of all kinds have written near the power of Aye, from SARK, to concern leaders, to ABC executive producer and author, Shonda Rhimes in her volume, Year of Yeah. When we determine to open ourselves to new opportunities and the idea that we Can, things happen.

YES to creative writing.
Yes to expressive dancing.
Yep to making that short picture show with your iPhone.
Yes to doodling.
Aye to sewing.
Yep to creating with carelessness.
Yes to showing upwardly in your creative life regardless of the issue.
What Gets in the Way of Saying YES to Your Art
I know you that equally yous read this, your mind is filling up with your to do list, and all the other "reasons" you don't have fourth dimension for art. I'1000 not going to mince words here though, not considering I desire to exist unkind or harsh, only because I desire to aid, and sometimes we all demand a petty reality bank check. (Trust me, I include myself in this statement!) The new year's day is about making a fresh start and new intentions, and I want to make sure I help you be really honest with yourself. Then here's what I want you to hear, take into your middle, and actually consider:
The just thing that'southward getting in the fashion of you making art is you.
Information technology'due south non your laundry,
Or your lack of supplies, (talk about making something from nothing)
Or your enervating schedule,
Or your shaky hands, (check this out)
Or your (and then-called) lack of talent.

It's you lot allowing everything else to have more importance in your life than spending even five minutes doing something creative.
When you are 85, and you lot expect dorsum on your life and what you did with the time you had, how will you lot feel about not taking that dance class, and never writing that novel or finishing that painting? You didn't have time to trip the light fantastic, to write, or to paint because you were cleaning, snooping on your ex on Facebook, or organizing your sock drawer. Will you be satisfied with what yous made a priority? What you lot chose to practise past default? Will you be happy that you lot let fear of non existence "skillful enough" make it your mode of creating?
What if y'all stopped putting off your creative dreams, large and small?

Clearing Creative Obstacles and Making Creative Opportunities
If there were no obstacles, what would you be saying YES to? Don't only sit there and read this, my friend. Allow'southward go out a paper and pen and write downwardly a listing.
